Man-Eater by Daniel Disselkoen

Here is a short video of the graduation project of Daniel Disselkoen, at the Royal Academy of Arts (UK). A very simple and fun way to upgrade a boring bus/tramway ride.

For four years, each day I took the same tram to art academy. Why would you then look out the window with curiosity when there is no reason to expect anything new. I decided to change the daily journey for my fellow passengers and myself. I wouldn’t move the tramway track, but maybe I could add something. Make something so that what already exists would look very different now.

Novel Hospital Toys by Hikaru Imamura

For children, hospitals are uncomfortable and unfamiliar places, writes Hikaru Imamura, the author of Novel Hispital Toys. Examinations and operations are a cause of anxiety and fear in the little patients, and these feelings can be relieved by informing them of what to expect during their visit.

‘Novel Hospital Toys’ is a toy set consisting of toy models of machines, such as CT, X-ray, ECHO(echocardiograph), ECG (electrocardiograph), as well as picture books of explaining machines. Every toy is made so as to give light or sounds so that children can easily imagine how these ‘strange’ machines work while they are playing with them in the waiting room.

Hot desk by Boys and Girls

For all the Jenga fans out there. Merci Philaf !

Dublin creative agency Boys and Girls has installed a new reception desk supported by giant Jenga blocks at one end and balloons at the other. The agency created the desk in response to an article in Marketing Magazine that mentioned how ordinary their reception area was. Boys and Girls also has a boardroom table made of Lego.
