RUN, an Olympic Park Installation by Monica Bonvicini

Monica Bonvicini created this awesome typographic art installation for the 2012 London Olympics. This is the largest standalone artwork on the olympic park, made of three nine-metre tall letters that form the word “RUN”. The letters are made of mirrored glass and mirrored stainless steel.

“In daylight, the letters will act as a mirror for visitors and reflect their surroundings, and at night the letters will become more transparent and glow with complex internal LED lighting.”

Relumine by Mischer’Traxler

The start of this project was a focus on light sources. Instead of completely designing a newly shaped lamp, ‘Relumine’ plays on the fact that we all have to switch from old light bulbs to new energy saving light sources. Each ‘Relumine’ uses two, discarded lamps, which are disassembled, sanded, newly lacquered and adapted with newer technology, before they are connected by a glass tube which holds a fluorescent tube.

Photographies by Sander Meisner

J’adore.

There’s something magical about Sander Meisner photographies. Maybe it’s the mix of flash, long exposure, night lights, unexpected colors… I love it.

Various artworks by Patrick Bérubé

Stealth Distortion by Børre Sæthre

Børre Sæthre (born in 1967 in Oslo, Norway) is a Norwegian artist whose exhibitions combine many skills, including those of the architect, the interior designer and the set dresser. His installations comprise interconnected environments that take the visitor into a fantastic, dreamlike universe which is both aesthetically pleasing and psychologically disquieting.

Stealth Distortion (… must have seen it in some teenage wet dream), 2008, Techniques mixtes
